Sawyer the WARRIOR!
YAHF is so important! Before this experience I had no clue that children spent years of their lives sometimes in the hospital waiting for hearts. Our son Sawyer had a heart attack in July of 2022 at 6 days old and spent almost 300 days total in the hospital. Mike Young came and visited us right when we listed Sawyer for transplant and supported us from that moment forward. It wasn’t just the amazing and helpful gifts he gave us that changed our lives but the emotional support is absolutely invaluable. We are so grateful for him and he is an inspiration!

“The Young at Heart Foundation is truly special – not only do its generous gifts come from people who really understand what it means to be listed for or receive a heart transplant as a child, but they are given to families at a time when their lives are out of control. Their gifts provide a glimmer of hope for a child and a family that have urgent emotional, spiritual, and economic needs. Michael himself knows all too well what strength and perseverance is needed to endure the heart transplant process. The thought that he and his organization put into these gifts, and the support his organization offers, help kids and their families understand that there is a path through the difficult times. “

Georgie
When I came across Mike’s personal page and the Young At Heart foundations page, I found peace and hope for Georgie’s future. Mike took the time to respond to me and share his heart transplant journey. He is truly inspiring and brave, in every way. I am so grateful to have crossed paths with him and thankful for the work he is doing for those facing or who have already undergone transplant surgery.
